Interview by FAME

How did you get started in the fitness industry?
I have always been interested in health and wellness. I started my career as an esthetician, for the beauty aspect. I always felt that beauty comes from the inside out, so I incorporated personal training with my esthetics – so my clients can feel beautiful on the outside and the inside. I now work as a Talent Representative for The FAME Agency, in which I can utilize my past into one position.

What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment I would have to say is being a good aunt to my niece, Emma and my nephew, Duncan! When they were born, I was so worried that I wouldn’t know what to do, I had a fear of being a terrible aunt! But they taught me and still teach me how to be a good aunt, and I feel so grateful everyday to have that opportunity and be a part of their lives.

What are your long-term goals?
I would really like to write a book on fitness and wellness. It would include my esthetics background as well. Motivational speaking and seminars are something that I would love to do in the future.

How do you motivate yourself to stay in shape?
I do a lot to keep myself going. I still run my esthetics and personal training business, all on my own, as well as working at The FAME Agency. I am still competing so my days tend to be packed! I have to be extremely organized all the time! Plan my meals, plan my days, pack my food, and set aside time for friends, family and sleep. I have motivational quotes all over my home, and pics of fitness idols to remind myself of why I am doing all of this.

What tips would you give to someone who wanted to get into the fitness modeling (or fitness competition)?
Spend the time and money to get yourself a professional that can prep you! It is well worth it! And then only listen to that person and your body. When you decide to do something like this that includes a sport specific diet, I find there are tons of people that become experts on what you should and shouldn’t be doing. Don’t get caught up in it! Just thank them and smile!

EXPERIENCE WITH FAME:
I find that WNSO has the most organized shows. It runs as smoothly as possible, and the staff is always very helpful! I guess that’s why I wanted to work for FAME, it has been such a positive portion of my life, and working here keeps me motivated!
